Native American Composers Apprentice Project

Founded in 2001, the Native American Composers Apprenticeship Project (NACAP) is an outreach program of the Grand Canyon Music Festival dedicated to teaching students on the Navajo and Hopi Reservations to compose concert music. Each year, young musicians work with composers Raven Chacon, Michael Begay, and string quartet in residence, in partnership with their school’s music program to produce their original scores and bring their music to a wide audience.
